Dear Mr. Mcculloch,

Arcadia - Tree Works Warren Footpath

I have fully investigated your complaint initially addressed to the Local
Government Ombudsman. The grounds for complaint is that the petition in
relation to the above works was not recognised and taken into account in the
published response to the petition and that there is no indication of how the
works have been modified in response to the petition.
I apologize that the schedule initially posted on the Arcadia web site failed
to include the petition. As I am sure you are aware this omission was rectified
as soon as the error was brought to the attention of the London's Arcadia
Project staff.
I can assure you tlnat the petition was fully considered by the London's
Arcadia Executive Committee (1 was present at the meeting) on the 6th February
2007. As you are aware the decision was made to retain the Acuba's (No's 7 &
7a), the Elders (No's 14 : 15) and Sycamores (No's 18 & 51). Many of the other
trees that were listed as to be felled will, as I am sure you are aware, send a
profusion of new shoots up from forming coppiced stools. I am aware that you
continue to be particularly concerned over sycamore (23) and the viability of
this tree is being reviewed.
Although I can appreciate your concern that works commenced the day following
the Executive Committee I can assure you that the specification for the works
was amended according to the decisions of the Executive.

How I will put things right

The petition has now been fully recognised on the web site. It was fully taken
into account when decisions were subsequently made so no further action is
required.
